Ryan Miller is currently the Acting Principal Trombonist of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. In addition to being a sought after Indianapolis freelancer, he teaches at the University of Indianapolis. Ryan has performed with the Grand Teton Music Festival, Virginia Symphony Orchestra, Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, National Repertory Orchestra, Fort Wayne Philharmonic, Illinois Symphony, Evansville Philharmonic and has previously held positions with the Richmond Symphony Orchestra and Columbus Indiana Philharmonic. Ryan was an Artist at the 2019 International Trombone Festival, where he gave a recital and masterclass with his ISO colleagues. Ryan has given masterclasses at Morehead State University, Oklahoma City University, Missouri Southern State University and Southern Nazarene University. His teachers have included M. Dee Stewart, Carl Lenthe, Peter Ellefson, Jeanie Lee and Francis Laws. He has had additional studies with Michael Mulcahy, Joseph Alessi, Matt Vaughn, Stephen Fissel, and Mark Fisher.
